If you haven't guessed already, I love Hunter D! And of course the bonus of his character is that he has a comic relief hand. So! I wanted to sculpt this out of clay and then try to use latex to attach to my hand.
I took this picture because I thought he looked funny! Like a happy monkey!
I had to add clay in the back of his eyes since I made them too deep! It's so creepy looking!
And here is the final product! I'm still waiting for the latex to cure! Hopefully it will go off without a hitch!

Vamp Hunter D update!
Today I went to an art store I didn't know existed!! And I found some great stuff! But the first great thing I found was cheap half xmas ornaments! I'm so happy I don't have to deal with resin or all that other stuff for D's necklace!
I got some window paint for his necklace and his hat ornament!
Paint paint paint about three layers and now it looks nice and smooth.
I also got these little beady thingys for decorating the boots. They were sooo cheap looking, but I painted them over with the window paint and Ta Da!! Pretty pretty!
And here we have the almost completed suit! I'm sooooo proud of myself.
Look at that zipper!! All by hand! And it's so comfy too!
The necklace is going to be awesome!!!
But the hat decoration...I forgot that the sides of the hat were smaller than the front! It's too big. Oh well, I have the other half of the smaller ornament! Ta ta for now!

Vampire D Shoulders and Suit!
The suit is slowly coming along, it's taking a while because the sewing machine don't sew too thick of leather (ie: anything relatively thick.) so I'm doing most of it by hand. By. Hand.
Anyway, on a brighter note, this is how I am going to make massive shoulders for the costume/cape segment. I'm really quite small, so I figure that some nice big shoulders will bolster my figure. After all, I need to be a little intimidating!
So I found this great plastic thing at the hardware store! I have no idea what it was for originally, but it was the perfect size for my shoulders!!
I grabbed a pen to draw my neck size, then my tiny little saw and started sawing away!
And voila!
Now I just need my 6 yards of fabric to come in the mail!! Yay for capes!

Vamp D update!
I have been sooooo busy with work, I have been working on my costume but haven't had time to blog about it! So, now an update!
I had the main front part of leather suit done, but I needed to add straps and sleeves and the back and stuff!
So I did what I always do, used the top half of my favorite shirt pattern for the suit!
Also, thank you to anyone who has donated a leather coat to the thrift store! Your coat goes to great uses in my closet!
My high-tech pins to keep the leather together while I sewed it on the machine!
And here we go!
Oh since I'm doing so many projects in such a short amount of time, I bought some baskets to keep it all together. It's so nice and portable!

Vampire hunter D hat!
I was really excited about making this hat, because I wanted to make it out of leather! Luckily for me I had come across this great instructable! (www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-a-Leather-Top-Hat).
So I put together a general idea of how I wanted the hat to look with cardboard!
Then I traced it on my leather. (Check out my super super complex cutting tool!)
And now I have my lovely pieces! I like this, it looks like a giant leaf!
But alas, I cut it a little too small on the top part and had to do it over again.
The next part was marking the holes with a fork and punching holes using my high-tech hammer and awl system!
And sew, sew sew sewing! I had to keep using the pliers to pull the needle through, I felt like a big sister from bioshock!!
Then I soaked it in water for about ten minutes which made the leather soft and pliable.
Magically turned inside out!
And the (generally) finished product!!
I think I may take the top part in, but after that, all I have to do it dye it! Yay!!

Stripey Dirndl Revamp!!
So I bought this beautiful dress online with the expectation that it had a lot of potential...ah hem! So! Here is the original dress!
So I played around with some ideas! Pins and lace and pins and lace!
And then I just played around! Ha ha!
Anyway, it seemed pretty easy! Lace around the middle, pulled up the shoulder straps two inches, and then sewed the bottom.
I think it looks great! It goes fabulously with that shirt too! :D

Royalty Purple Dress!
Well, I'm not actually how sure regal this dress will look, but the color really is to die for!
Want to know where I got that cute little light purple bib? From a terrible Gap tee that fell apart after one wash! Luckily the light part was made out of a better quality fabric.
This picture is the best this tee ever looked.
Bye bye! Into the trash you go!
Oh oh oh!!! Look at how cute these little bows are!!!
Blowing little bow kisses!
They are also PERFECT for the makeshift mustache! Ha ha ha!
Anyway, I think they will look adorable around the collar! Ta ta for now!
