A little late...

But better late than never, right? So it is with great honor that I bring out my Halloween costume I was SUPPOSED to wear, but I got so sick I ended up sleeping all day. I also was going to make a bonnet, but I was so sick I didn't trust myself around any pointy object! Oh well, the top turned out nice, and I think I could wear it around.

Ta da! Little bo peep! I got the headband when I was touring around Iceland! It's my favorite, I wear it all the time!
Where are my sheep?

Bodice on Vampire hunter D starting!

I am starting work on the leather bodysuit. I am going with the Bloodlust movie look...but I think I may add detail after I get the main basic outline down. It's my first time making something that looks like this, but I decided to just go for it!

Ba dum dum dum!

I belted it to so I could pin the sides on.

I think it turned out pretty good! I'm laughing at my scarf in all these pictures, I getting over a cold and since I am always cold all the time anyway, the scarf has been helping!

Bonus picture, here is my super cute little bo peep shirt I threw together in two hours!

New Costume ideas!

So I haven't done much of anything when it comes to costuming for conventions. But that is all going to change!
Now I have three costume ideas which I'm hoping to make in just a couple of months.
First I want to do Vampire Hunter D! Bloodlust is one of my most favorite movies! I have watched this soooo many times, and I still cry at the end! Not to mention the animation is some of the most thrillingly gorgeous I've ever seen. This will probably be the most challenging since I am planning on making a full leather suit, armor, a leather hat, a huge prop sword, and a parasitic hand!

Next is from the video game Persona 3. Aigis the robot is so cool!! Who doesn't want to have two machine guns coming from your fingers? And a fabulous headband? And just general awesomeness??
It'll be the first time I'll be working with Latex, and I'm kind of excited about it! I'm also hoping to do some electronic work on this, like lights from my fingertips and the headband!

Last is from Neon Genesis Evenagelion. I am thinking of doing Asuka! I actually think this will be the easiest costume. It would be with latex again, but check out that long red hair!
That's all for now folks!

Sheep mask!

Halloween is just around the corner, and I am being little bo peep!
And the best part is my friend is going to dress up with me as a sheep! So I made her this lovely mask! Check out those fake eyelashes I added!
I love the yellow ribbons!

And I couldn't resist taking some photos too!
Delicious flowers!
Sleepy sheepy!

I also made my costume, but I forgot to get pictures...next time!

Embrodering fun, all day long!

For me, embroidering is super relaxing. so after a long week, I decided to unwind and have fun!
And decorative bows are always good in a pinch for some extra fashion!

First up, get our your girl scout cookies! It's time to dress in green and climb around in the forest! And luckily for me, I had quite a bit of fabric left over from my Rydia costume!

And then, the little squirrel who doesn't want to share his nut! It's all his!!

The little lamb who gets around by rolling on balls of yarn from her last shearing!

And last but not least, the little butterfly in love with the lovely pink flower. Ahhh, so sweet!
Maybe soon I'll have some more updates, or maybe just more lazy embroidering.

It's all coming together!

I sewed the mask almost to perfection! Look how great the sides look!

The little plastic piece looks like it's going to hold up great too!

Look how amazing it looks!! So exciting! I love being able to do this again!

When I have a problem I find that if I sleep, most the time my brain figures it out.

I had a problem figuring out how to support the sides of the mask so I could attach the two breathing thingys without the mask collapsing on itself. Luckily for me I dreamed that I bought a gallon of milk, dumped out the contents and used the flexible plastic as a support. And that's exactly what I did! I love my dreams.
The plastic was perfect. I glued the bottom together, and then using my trusty glue gun, melted holes so I could attach it with ease to the mask itself.
