I was going to dye my whole head a pretty green that (supposedly) glows in the dark! But once I bleached my hair, it looked so great I left it and had a party!
Ha ha ha ha! And speaking of blondes, I have exciting upcoming cosplay news! Supercon is coming up in July, and I have some big plans! One of which being, I really really really want to cosplay Princess Agitha from Twilight Princess!
She's so cute! Definitely trying to copy Lolita style here, but it kinda works in the game!
I did a lot of research and didn't really like any of the costumes or really bright brazen colors I saw for the character. I wanted to do a lower key (more mature?) version! I also really wanted to try out printing things on spoonflower! I made my design (which took me like 6 hours because I am sooooo bad at photoshop and I got the measurements all wrong!) and then sent it off to print!
Yeah, I forgot the part where it says, "will print within two weeks...." Or in my case, "Oops, looks like we are running a little late!"..... Needless to say, a month later, I got my fabric! But hey, it looks really great!
I was really excited about all the cute accessories she has! Old school Lolita headband, bug earrings, giant butterflies on her dress, a basket, leather gloves, this girl has it going! Anyway, I started making some of the accessories.
I made everything out of apoxie sculpt! I painted the gold beetles that go on her headband; the beetle on her necklace, and pulled out my blue window paint to paint the beetle earrings....then spilled the bottle all over the box I was painting in!! Nooooooo!
But it turned out I had to repaint the necklace anyway, so these babies are ready to go! :D

Vacuum forming! REVISITED!!
So as you may or may not remember, I tried doing vacuum forming all wrong! I used the wrong clay, my oven was ill-equiped, and I think I even used the shop vac wrong. It was basically disaster!
So I am pleased to announce that I made an (almost) perfect pull!
First I had to make makeshift metal (shelves? thingys?) so that my piece of plastic could bubble like it is supposed to!
My first try I think I added too many things to the board, it ended up looking like eye-spy!
So I took everything off except the horn, and voila!
It ended up with some minor webbing, but hey! I'm pleased! It even picked up the detail! And!! I can cut this plastic with scissors from around my house!
Then I tried with a few small things! I think I let to plastic melt a little too much, so it kind of runched...
And it ended up not working to reheat the plastic once it was super runched.....
And then I had a minor emergency where my makeshift metal thingys fell off and burst into flame!
Yeaaaaaaah....but anyway, I'm very pleased and am looking forward to making more!

There and back again! Unicorn shoes!
Sorry sorry about not posting for a while. Life happens sometimes and unfortunately I have to go along with it instead of happily blogging and making fun things!
Oh a happier note, did you see those shoes that were released by irregular choice? Oh wow, unicorn heels???
I wanted some sooo badly, but I have such picky feet and $200 dollars was totally out of my price range for magic shoes!
So I decided to get some shoes I knew would fit off of ebay and make my own unicorn heels! Apoxie sculpt was my weapon of choice! Apoxie sculpt is my favorite, (basically indestructible) but it dries reeeeeally heavy! I chose shoes with a bigger heel so the inside of my unicorn would be "hollow"!
First step, research! I drew a picture of what I wanted on a piece of cardboard in the shape of the shoe. I always laugh at my ridiculous sketches! When I was in college my art teacher kept asking me to re-do my sketches since they were so bad! Ha ha ha! But hey, as long as I get the general idea down, it works for me!
Then I used some clay to do a rough draft of what I wanted the unicorn to look like. I measured everything next to my sketch to make sure it fit the heel.
Once I was satisfied with that, I moved onto the apoxie sculpt!
First I had to put on the unicorn's behind and let it dry for about six hours. The tail kept drooping, so I had to get creative with how I propped it up!
Then after that it was just adding more and more and blending it all together. And waiting for each major piece to generally dry.
And here we go!!!!! Yay!!
I totally ran out of white paint or this beautiful creature would be painted and sparkly! I also ran out of apoxie sculpt (I loooove that stuff) so I have to wait for more to finish the other heel! :-( HURRY MAILMAN!!
But hey, total cost for making unicorn heels? $40 dollars!!! Yay!

Let's make a hood! Hoodie time!
As you may have noticed, I loooooooove bunnies. Love love love them. And I love making them a part of my wardrobe in as many ways as possible.
This time it's for a hood!
I made a mock-up hood from some fabric I had lying around. It took a couple times, but I finally got it down!
And then I realized I was wearing my friend's bunny sweater she had made me. With a hood. Ha ha ha ha! I guess I could have just use her hood instead. Oh well!
Look at this fabric!! I'm totally in love! Thank you Etsy for sending me fabulous fur!
Then I sewed it all together, and added the massively long bunny ears....And decided I needed to semi-start over again! It wasn't sitting right, and I had to take a lot of it in! I looked like a weird huntress....Thankfully photoshop fixes everything!
But here we go! Much shorter ears, and I decided to make them stand up straight. When they were floppy, I kinda looked like a wolf.
I thought this would come in handy in case I need to act out as a wonderland rabbit!!

It's Butterflying time!
Ah yes, I have finally finished my butterfly dress!! And what can I say? I'm desperately madly helplessly in love!
All those hand sewed origami butterflies. My bloody fingertips, my weeping eyes, so much went into this dress! Ha ha ha ha! Kidding, but it did take a long time.
And just for fun, here is a wig to go with the photos! Wheeee! This dress is so fabulous, I want to wear it out and about and take a vogue photoshoot!
Wearing this dress makes me want to make more artsy dresses like this! I'll have to think about it....

Let's Dye with Coffee!!
What could be better than coffee? It's beautiful scent, it's soothing color and the kick of caffeine when you really really need to make it to the end of your work day!
Remember this shirt? I bought it on ebay and took it in. It's a linen cotton blend and perfect for hot days! I love it (it's super lightweight and fits like a dream) but the color is pretty terrible.
So! I researched all the internet to find out how to dye this shirt! Everybody had different ways to do it, so I jumbled it all together and started a brew!
All of the instructions that I read had all these different ideas about how to make the coffee color stick ie: ash soda, vinegar, salt, etc... so I just used vinegar since I had that around. I used about a cup of it and let it soak in!
Then I added the coffee....and I didn't make enough! This is about 10 cups all together with the second batch! (Bye bye decaf coffee!) I really wanted the color to be dark, so I left it in there (it was around boiling) for 20 mins.
I pulled it out, washed it with warm water and tiny detergent, then let it dry!
Voila! Much better!
